Autumn 2018 saw the conclusion and staging of a project Catherine had been writing on  for almost a year: Canon In Sea. This production saw the basic Tale group line up with percussionisit Seamus Gallagher from Ballyshannon, as well as Felip Carbonnel and Ray Coen from ‘No Crows’ and a four strong group of narrators / storytellers.  Commissioned  by Spanish Armada Ireland, the project played in Streedagh Napoleonic Station, and included footage of some of the cannon recovered by the UAE in 2015. Two standing ovations were followed by a hearty Spanish themed supper and wine from Eithna’s by the Sea, Mullaghmore.

Hot on the success of the Joycean projects from last year, the group looks set to continue in this vein, and will join forces with some fascination folk over 2019 as the theme of Joycean text, audio visual and music continiues to develop under the capable guidance of Catherine Rhatigan.

A 10 day concert tour in Japan will certainly be a highlight of the year, and Catherine and Robert look forward to joining the gifted Isabelle Hauser for more storytelling events in Austria in March.

A big thanks to everyone who supported us in 2018, and we look forward to entertaining you again in 2019
